Ive saved a piece of music onto realplayer and itunes, how can i cut a piece out of it so when it plays only that cut bit plays?
Download Audacity, play the music and record it onto Audacity, then you can crop and edit it easily.
Free download http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It’s brilliant.

Great minds think alike Joseph!
I would think you need to use a 3rd part application to edit the actual music file. I would recommend Audacity. You can download it from.. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/.
Once you crop/cut out the unwanted segments, you can re-save the file and add it to your itunes library.

if you want to cut up the actual file, audacity will due nicely. if you just want it to only play part of the file, you can do this easily in itunes just by right clicking the song, going to the options tab, and setting the start and end times.

Wavepad(by NCH) can also edit sound files and save them in different formats. However, there is a trial. But if you only need it for a little while it works great. Has all of the effects and is not that hard to use.
